Many patients who are close to their ideal weight still struggle with pockets of stubborn, unwanted fat. For these patients, nonsurgical body contouring is an excellent alternative to liposuction. When I decided to offer body sculpting in my office, I considered CoolSculpting. However, after taking a careful look at frequent patient complaints, I looked elsewhere.
I am proud to offer truSculpt iD, the latest treatment solution from Cutera.
There are several key differences between CoolSculpting and truSculpt iD that convinced me to choose the latter.
As the name suggests, CoolSculpting is intended to freeze fat cells. truSculpt iD uses radio frequency to melt unwanted fat.
CoolSculpting relies on suction to pull fat into the machine. If you are unable to pinch your unwanted fat, CoolSculpting will be ineffective. Coolsculpt patients frequently complain about the truSculpt iD, on the other hand uses no suction. Heat is applied from either a hands-free or small hand-held device. For flatter areas of skin, truSculpt iD is by far the better option.
Those looking to lose fat on their shoulders or underarms should avoid CoolSculpting. It is often too difficult for the CoolSculpting machine’s suction to properly treat those areas. truSculpt iD is much more effective.Another crucial difference is the time it takes to receive treatment. CoolSculpting sessions typically take 35 minutes to 1 hour. For many of my patients with demanding jobs, blocking out an hour of their day is not an option.
A truSculpt iD session typically takes only 15 minutes. Many patients schedule their sessions during their lunch breaks and are able to immediately resume normal activities.
truSculpt iD’s 24% average fat reduction after 1 session is a level of success that I haven’t seen from other body contouring solutions.
I encourage any patient who is roughly at their ideal weight, but is struggling with their body image due to unwanted fat, to schedule an appointment for truSculpt iD. If you have tried CoolSculpting before but were not pleased with the results, truSculpt iD may be an excellent alternative.
